53 Member Family Under One Roof!

This is an excellent video on a 53 member family that lives together in one household. It teaches us about our capacity and ability to be able to get along, to be able to move past little things and let them go, to resolve conflicts, and to live a fulfilled and joyful life in a big family. I think it is really interesting just seeing how interviewing person to person they are genuinely happy in the household and admit there are little kerfuffles like anyone has, but that overall they are able to easily sort them out and move past them. They make over 500 rotis not including those for their own household! They have figured out ways of dividing up the household tasks and allowing space and time for the children to do their studies, and for people to go out and do the types of things they enjoy. It is amazing how we are struggling here in the western world just for couples to get along, or for siblings to get along, when there is just so much capacity for us to be flexible and to live in larger settings. We are evolutionarily adapted for that. There is a great joy in children being able to grow up with so many loving figures around and so many role models. For this family it is working out so well and can be example for all of us.
